TMZ is reporting that they’ve obtained IRS documents showing that Busta Rhymes is being investigated for failure to pay almost $790,000 in past due taxes. The documents show that he failed to pay $611,000 in 2008 and $178,000 in 2012.
Busta is reportedly set to release a new album Extinction Level Event 2 on July 4th. Let’s hope the album sells enough to help him pay back those debts. Although even that might not save him – remember that Lauren Hill paid back a similar amount in full to the IRS the day before her court date but was still sentenced to three months in jail.
