Eight rappers who sell their CDs in Times Square have come together to sue the NYPD and the City of New York for harassment and numerous false arrests which they claim violate their first amendment rights. The lawsuit names 17 specific police officers who are alleged to have repeatedly arrested the eight plaintiffs on false charges, like disorderly conduct or aggressive begging. One of the plaintiffs claims: “I’ve been arrested over 30 times.”
